Estamos ante un "reissue", una reactualización año 2009 de una obra maestra presentada en el año 2005. Theoretically Pure Anterograde Amnesia, es una colección de nada menos que 72 tracks de este apreciado artista, muy cercano a la Hauntología, como referente auditivo.

Tomando como premisa su anterior trabajo del año 2008: Persistent Repetition of Phrases, no hay pierde ya que fascinan é invocan espectros, llenos de crepitar entre un conjunto de sonidos siniestros y melancólicos, representando la fragilidad de nuestros instantes vividos.

James Kirby, encargado de semejante acto enigmático, relanza este documento, bajo el sello History Always Favours The Winners, pero en esta ocasión lo podemos encontrar, cortesía del sello de la anterior publicación V/Vm, gratuitamente para el regocijo de quienes disfrutamos locuras sonoras como la presentada.

Those who suffer from 'theoretically pure anterograde amnesia' will still be able to recall memories laid down before the onset of anterograde amnesia, but will exist in a transient world where anything beyond their immediate attention-span disappears permanently from their consciousness. Where once the Caretaker’s music seemed to recall an imaginary past, all such memories have faded. It is now the present, the vapour of here and now, which is crippling, fearful, and sinister. The ballroom music of yore has been supplanted by a frazzle of static, fuzz, and chasms of atonal doom. Possibly this is the definitive Caretaker release and will appeal to those who enjoy the isolationist output of William Basinski and Brian Eno.
